Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Shipwreck: Fill Your Treasure Chest
In the chapter, Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Shipwreck by Donald J. Sobol, the theme is shipwrecks and treasure. Many things were found in treasure chests that were carried on galleons and ships traveling the seas between the 1400s ― 1700s and then sunk for any number of reasons. This document provides an empty treasure chest. Students should it with things which might have been carried in a treasure chest either going from Europe to the colonies or from the colonies to Europe. This is a fun activity which requires students to apply what they have learned about maritime history from the 1400s ― 1700s.
